The Academy was born out of the desire to educate, inspire, and empower the next generation of natural perfumers—to help them build a brand that not only smells divine but also aligns with the principles of sustainability, authenticity, and artistry.
A Marketplace Built By and For Our Community
The Academy has always been a place where students from all over the world come together to share knowledge and their love of natural perfumes. But there was something missing: a space for these talented artisans and entrepreneurs to sell their creations and materials. That’s why we’ve launched the NPA Collective Marketplace—a dedicated platform for the natural perfumery community. Think of it as a more curated, specialised alternative to larger marketplaces. Here, we prioritise quality, ethics, and sustainability above all else, with a focus on helping natural perfumers grow their businesses and connect with like-minded buyers.
This Marketplace isn’t just for anyone. It’s for those who share our passion for 100% natural, artisan-crafted, sustainable, and ethically sourced materials and products. The marketplace is strictly curated to maintain the highest standards. We don’t allow mass-produced or synthetic products—everything sold here must reflect our core values of sustainability, artistry, and authenticity. We expect our vendors to use high-quality images, take their time when creating their product listings, and present only the best they have to offer. Half-hearted efforts simply won’t do.
Our Journey: Why We’re Here
The creation of this platform wasn’t an overnight idea. The Natural Perfume Academy was co-founded by Ruth Ruane and Justine Crane in 2008, born out of years of dedication, challenges, and above all, a love for the art of perfumery. Ruth, with over 30 years of experience in natural design, branding, and e-commerce, has poured her heart into this project. From running her own natural skincare brand—so powerfully branded that a Russian company sent €3,000 overnight just based on the look of her website—she has learned firsthand what it takes to build something from scratch. Justine Crane, a master natural botanical perfumer with over 20 years of experience, has dedicated her life to natural botanical perfumery, writing and education, teaching and mentoring students all over the world.
Together, we’ve built the Natural Perfume Academy into a hub for learning, sharing, and growing as artisans. Now, with the NPA Collective Marketplace, we are offering a place for NPA students, post graduates and artisans to thrive by selling their products on a platform that supports and promotes them.

Over the past few years, we’ve watched as our members have asked for a dedicated place to trade raw materials, sell their perfumes, and find tools to help them grow their businesses. We’ve listened. The NPA Collective Marketplace has been created to empower our community to take their passion and make it profitable, while ensuring that our platform stays true to our values of natural, ethical, and sustainable practices.
This Marketplace is exclusive to perfumers who are committed to working with natural materials, and we are dedicated to maintaining a high standard. If a vendor is found selling synthetic or mass-produced products, their account will be deactivated to protect the integrity of the platform. We take our commitment to quality seriously and expect the same from everyone who joins our community.
